Product Details
Installs an invisible, protective shield without altering the appearance of the metal.
Intended Use
For use on a variety of metal surfaces including, but not limited to, anodized aluminum, which is commonly found on window mullions, aluminum composite panels and painted or coated architectural surfaces.
Recommendations
Following restoration, we recommend the application of Presto’s Metal Protector product to seal the metal and preserve the restoration investment.
This product formulation contains high-performance silicone designed to install durable, long-lasting protection to a variety of metal surfaces, including anodized aluminum, which is commonly found on window mullions.

This product shields metal surfaces from water and oxygen, and helps prevent these elements from aiding in corrosion of the metal; thus preventing the need for frequent restoration. A barrier is created between contamination found in the environment and the metal surface, forcing stain-forming contaminants to settle on the polymeric coating. These contaminates are then easily cleaned during regular window cleaning maintenance services.
This coating will last up to five years depending on individual environmental conditions and the frequency of maintenance services performed on the substrate.

Equipment Needed

- Absorbent microfiber or disposable towels

Application
For invisible protection using Metal Protector MD: Apply product to metal surfaces with a sponge or rag. Spread Metal Protector in a circular, overlapping motion making sure to thoroughly work the product into every inch of the metal with multiple strokes. Once the area has been completely covered, use an absorbent rag or towel to remove excess residue and dry surface. For superior, yet invisible protection, apply product to surface creating an evenly wet coating and allow product to dry. Do not disturb the surface for 24 hours. Any wet rags that are laden with product may be flammable. special precautions should be taken to protect these items from exposure to any ignition sources.
Precautions
SURFACE PREPARATION
For best adhesion and protection, first restore surface with Metal ReSurfacer. If contaminants are not removed prior to use, the adhesion ability of Metal Protector may be compromised. If applying this product after restoring the surface with EnviRestore Metal Stain Remover, use a solvent wipe to prepare the surface. Protect unintended surfaces. Always test in a small, inconspicuous area prior to application.
